Let the vacation begin – Memorial Day Weekend

We drove up to Cape Canaveral the night before our honeymoon cruise on the Oasis of the Seas to make some new friends from the Facebook roll call group for this sailing. Sub-tropical storm Alberto was on our tail the whole drive up but that didn’t ruin our spirits. We met at least 20ish of the people in the Facebook group at Grills Tiki Bar right in the port. The food was pretty good and the views were nice.

With nothing else to do but wait until the morning, we made a stop to the local IMAX theater and watched Solo.

There is a hotel close to the port called Americas Best Value Port Canaveral that cost only about $100.00. For one night’s stay, they let us park our car in their lot for the week AND shuttled us over to the port. It was no Ritz Carlton but it was clean.
