A New Year, A New Chapter

If there’s one thing life, and travel, teaches you, it’s that seasons don’t always move the way we expect them to.

This past year was quieter here. Not because the story ended, but because life asked us to slow down and hold space for things that mattered more than sharing. We experienced great loss last year from Rob’s mom, Apple’s dad, and others we loved deeply and grief has a way of reshaping time. It softens priorities.

All of this unfolded while raising a toddler, which brought its own mix of joy, exhaustion, perspective, and resilience. Some days were beautiful. Some days were heavy. Many days were both.

So we stepped back.

Grief doesn’t have a timeline, but it does change you. This past year reminded us that life isn’t meant to be rushed, documented perfectly, or forced into neat chapters. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is pause, love fiercely, and keep showing up for your family and loved ones.

As this new year begins, we’re stepping forward gently, with healing, gratitude, and openness for what’s ahead. We don’t have a rigid plan or big promises. What we do have is hope, curiosity, and a readiness to begin again.
